Had two nice 3.5 yos cruise by about 20 minutes ago, 8 and 10ptrs. All seemed civil and respectful but soon it will be on like Donkey Kong...

In Briscoe County I killed my buck last year on 11-20. He was trailing a doe. We saw bucks mount does on 11-22, and again on 12-3. So, like clockwork, the week of, and the week after Thanksgiving.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

I hunted all week and it’s full throttle on our place. Lots of fighting and chasing. Bucks ignoring feeders just to run doe. Already seeing broken racks as well.

The bachelor group of 4 (it was 5; until my Muzzy made it -1) I’ve been watching paired up. And, they don’t stay close with each other this last week. Won’t be long now. Hope more does find their way nearby me.

I watched 2, 3.5 year olds try and push doe last night in Wise Co

The doe aren’t ready but I will say in the next 2-3 days some will be ready

UPDATE!!
On my 30 mile drive to Granbury @ 11:32 AM today; I had to stop in the middle of the road to prevent running over a doe being chased by a little 8-pointer. About 10 miles later; I saw another pair running across the road. The cold weather has got them moving too. Time to climb back into the “grocery store” again. Need some doe meat.

I've heard reliable reports about activity up here but figured it's just the little guys feeling their oats so far.
