I am looking to buy more PMags for my AR. The ones I have now are the Gen M2 mags. Are the Gen M3 mags any better than the M2 for the $3-$4 more that they cost?

It's a better magazine. I trust my life to all my firearms so for me it's a yes.

The last bullet would get jammed and not chamber. I have ready that is a common issue with pmags and have been transitioning to metal mags for that reason. Don't seem to have that issue with metal mags. Does the gen 3 solve that issue?

I've never had a problem with the M2 mags, i believe the only M3 mags I have are 20 rounders. I bought 50 of the M2's about a year ago but already had about 15 and they still run fine so the 50 are still sitting in the box in my garage read to rotate in if the others fail. I've shot everything from 55gr up to 78gr 5.56 and 110gr up to 220gr 300BLK out of the same mags and have never had an issue. I also use them shooting carbine competitions and had a couple of failures to feed, but it was a gas issue with my comp gun, after adjusting I had no other problems.
YMMV.

Switched to Lancer L5 AWM Mags years ago, the steel feed lips are what sealed the deal for me.

Since the M2 are $8 at Palmetto I’d probably just buy them.

I have about 40 M2. Seem to work fine for me. Nothing to rigorous. Just hunting and range work. I did get bored at work a few years back and started to stipple them. The molded pattern makes it easy.

I use GI-style aluminum magazines. I used to have some M2s. I don't think there's enough difference in the M2 and M3 to pay 50% more.
Pass the gravy.

Agree. I’ve ran both fairly hard in rain and dust and never had an issue. I run the lancers and sure fire as well. All 4 are great mags. Look around a bit more and if you can wait a bit. Mag deals come up this time of year. I bought 20 lancers last year for a little over $12 each and sure fire FDE 20 rounders for $14 when you buy 20ive seen the M3’s for around 12-13 dollars when you buy 10 or more I use GI-style aluminum magazines. I used to have some M2s. I don't think there's enough difference in the M2 and M3 to pay 50% more.

For me and those I've trained a lot with, the difference is more shades of gray than a black and white issue. I've only seen 2 M2's break their feeding lips. Both times my son managed to do it. That is after 50 plus loadings. Never seen anybody else have an M2 failure. Yet he has never broken an M3 (yet). I prefer the M3 and trust the M3 more but would not want to have to prove it.
"Group think" is not thinking. It is the lack of independent thought. It is a cancer of the mind.
