Where in relation to Huntsville?
Hunted in Riverside and north of Huntsville doen lost Indian camp road in the late 90’s-2001. Good population of deer in Riverside, not so much on Lost Indian rd.
This was before AR’s so a lot of young bucks hit the ground (no does could be shot in Walker county at that time). After AR’s were in effect it helped a lot years down the road. Now I hear of 150-160” deer taken down along the Trinity river bottoms.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I hunted Sam Houston National Forest for many years. Tough hunting but I enjoyed it. Really makes you appreciate the deer you get .
