I get on here from time to time and ask about certain areas because of the opportunity of buying land in the area. Its been brought to my attention that just west of Estelline their are both mule deer and whitetail. I'm mostly concerned and interested about the whitetail. My biggest fear would be purchasing a place and only seeing mule deer. So my question is, are there plenty of whitetail and also good quality whitetail in that area?

Thanks for any info!

We hunted a place in Turkey that had more mule deer, but still plenty of whitetail. Love that area up there.

You should have been here yesterday!

Ok. Thank you for the response. I also heard of the mule deer migrate into the area more during the late season? True?

My place is about 20 miles northwest of Estelline, and we always see more WT than mulies. However, it's also different from year to year. The mulies seem to be more migratory... meaning I'll see them everyday for a few days, then they're gone for 3-4 days, then there they are again. If your place is in canyon country (western Hall) or out towards Turkey, you're liable to see more mulies than WT. You should also be prepared to see more mulie activity in December when their rut is at its height.
