CHC,

Take you a long range hunting rifle. You will like being able to practice some long shots from the Patio at the top of the hill. There are some places you can get off to in the back of the ranch where you can really take some long shots.

FYI, the biggest animals have gone mostly to the back of the ranch where its not normally hunted. There are Aoudad back there and they don't have a tag. Last year when I was there, we were told they were free if you get one. We never saw one and didn't get all the way back either. The problem is while on your time there, its difficult to get to the back of the ranch since you can't drive and you have to be back before nightfall. Best to be in good shape for walking up and down those hills because it will wear you out quickly. Majority of all the hunters usually stay up near the front and not too far away. We did see a nice heard of aoudad one day just on the outside of his fence on another ranch next door.

Thanks for the info. Haven't made up my mind what rifle I am going to take yet, probably Lora's 257 Roberts. Depending on the knee and how is is doing I will probably take along my 300 Weatherby or the 340, and if I glass any Audad and work my way within about 300 yards of them I will at least give them a reason to run.

What other things do we need???? Linens, cookware ect????? My cousin did tell me, that either the Trailer or the Cabin isn't the Hilton, which I can deal with. Other hunters have also said, they have gone and the AC/heating wasn't working. I hope it is. I also heard the cabin was the better of the 2. There are some hogs on the property, and are free, if you get one, not sure on that one either. For the most part, everything I have heard has been postive about TT. They say he is a super nice guy, and really tries to accomadate his hunters, we will see.

From my experiences there I'd rather sleep out in a pop up tent than have to step one foot in that trailer he has up there. The camphouse is the better of the two. There is not much hogs out there but I wouldn't expect to see much.

Where he takes you guys out, your really not all that far from the camp. A lot of the younger rams are up in the front of the ranch. The big stuff gets off in the ravines and towards the back of the ranch. If you want those, try stalking on foot after the morning hunt. That, or you can always go for his smaller pasture that has some bigger trophies in it and its easier.

Thompsons ranch is what you make of it. It can me hard if you want to do a hard hunt and actually get out and stalk. Or you can sit at the more common stands where a lot of the younger rams are and take a shot there.

OOOOOH great Big Grasshopper,
Try to focus on the ones trying to upset the applecart instead of the midgets and monkeys that are your friends.

nothing was said about spreading your ashes. I was just informing my much shorter older brother that I was in line to buy the next gun you sell, since the little bas&^%rd has bought the last two.
