I am remodeling a pool that is side by side with a koi pond. I have to remove the fish from the pond to repair some leaks and need a temporary place to house the fish. Does anyone know where I can find a 500 gallon plastic stock tank in the Dallas area?

Treat the water and use a spare bathtub. Wife won’t say a thing.

I don't mind spending the money. This is a $90,000 job. The fish are a few grand each. I just can't find a big tank locally and want to start on the job tomorrow.

Cover the tank with something or the birds will have a field day.

275 Gallon IBC tote. All over FB Marketplace for around $60-$70 each.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around fish that are worth a couple of grand each.

Not sure if you could temporarily move them and rent out some space at the wholesale bait place in Lewisville

I’m still trying to wrap my head around fish that are worth a couple of grand each. Cost and worth frequently have no correlation. The all white ones with a single large orange dot that makes them look like a Japanese flag will bring $250,000 for a 28" to 30" long adult. The ones I am messing with are a few grand each at best. The home owners wouldn't get mad if one died but I believe I have an obligation to take care of the them the best that I can. Found an 1100 gallon plastic tank on Facebook for cheap. It is only 28" deep so I am going to have to cover it with chicken wire to keep heron or coons from eating the fish. Anyone here have a use for it once I am done with this job?

I'll use it for a stock water tank.

Glens, when the ostrich/emu craze died, some owners just turned them loose. 2 wound up on my place and neither cows or deer would get anywhere near the pasture they wound up in. Then they traveled the mile to my house. I finally shot them and drug them off for the yotes and buzzards to dispose of.
They are like the pigs that we shoot on sight.

there was a LOT of money to be made (on the front end) of the Emu craze ... I am really glad I didn't get suckered into that as it was about the time the bubble popped. whew!

It wasn't $25,000, it was $250,000. The market for high end exotics has been stable for 30+ years and the dealers are very specialized.
