Gov. Gavin Newsome signed a new law today doubling the sales taxes on guns and ammo. Supposedly all the proceeds are to go to increasing security in schools, in order to curb gun violence. Why do people continue to live in that sh*th*ole and tolerated the liberal bs???

A disproportionate amount of the california transplants coming to texas or very right leaning. Blue states are getting bluer and red states are getting reder because of migration between the states.

My Texas town is getting full of them . If you talk to them , most still think blue . They are just running from the cost of living there . They do not seem to understand they are the cause of it .

Several years ago a good friend and his family moved to California. He, an (R), is looking forward to his kid getting to 18 so he can divorce his wife, a (D), and get the hell out. He says she's getting more and more left day-by-day. They moved because both of them got promotions. I really hope she doesn't come back; she doesn't fit in.

They are fleeing that garbage dump like cockroaches, sadly just to move here and ruin Texas like they are ruining Colorado...you cannot save people from themselves, if they are fleeing California, they are simply fleeing their own creation.

My thoughts exactly. Jason lives in a red county...and he lives in the more red rural part of that county. The blue Californians are moving to the bluer areas of Texas.

I live within fifty miles of Austin but drive to Fort Worth if I need anything not available in my small town...You place yourself under California type rules visiting Austin, I don't believe the people in charge there believe in or practice 1st or 2nd Amendment rights. The Socialists are about to take over Austin completely, so get ready for a big push for California laws, rules, and taxes here in Texas. Just my opinion, but I'm seeing it up close. There is nothing we can do about it, people can move wherever they want, and vote their hearts, I'm just saying our Great State is about to change for the worse in my opinion.

IMO we need to make amendments to the TX constitution to enshrine things like our right to constitutional carry and an unborn baby's right to life, etc. and then give cities and counties autonomy so they can reap the consequences of their legislative stupidity. Not likely though since conservatives in Austin don't really believe in local government. They just want to increase and hold power at the state level and tell locals they're not good enough/smart enough to govern themselves.
