A new grip is what I want. It needs to have a closable compartment, mostly for CR123 batteries for the NV scope. Anybody have a real favorite grip with storage? There’s an endless supply on the internet, but I don’t want to have to buy a bunch just to find the right one.

Magpul has you covered and they are all on sale right now at Brownells.

This is what you seek. CR123 Battery CoreThis will work on either the Magpul MAID or MOE grips.

If you have a B5 grip instead, they have a battery plug too you can buy to turn it into a storage compartment.

Magpul K2 is the one I prefer, it’s “tacky”.

I have both Magpul and Wilson. The WC is really good and I’m leaning that way on all future builds.

Glad you found what you were looking for, curious about if the batteries rattle around inside like the insert for the bolt does.
I use the CTR stock, but didn't Magpul make a stock or currently makes a stock with battery storage, specifically for the CR123a batteries?

Yes, the STR, ACS, and MOE SL-S all have good battery storage options.

Anything that goes into the grip storage area gets wrapped in a piece of paper towel. No rattle, and a piece of paper towel can come in handy in many different circumstances.

Midway already shipped the grip and insert. I suppose there will be some way to separate the batteries and maintain full charge on each.
