You can also use Cable Clamps to join two panels together. Strong and easy to quickly remove with a battery drill.

I use them on my Hog Traps. But your solution works also.

Electric fence wire is strong and easy to work with. If you need stronger just double or triple it. A spool of it will be a part of your estate.
Overlap the panels one square and wire them on both ends. That's the end of each panel. Put three together and stand em up. Make the arch and you can do the rest of the panels while on your feet. Two or three posts will hold it in place while the arch gives it strength. Never seen a piggy breach a pen constructed that way. Of course you may be the first.

That is the way I built my round pens probably 12 years or ore ago. Still standing and working. bolted the panels all together and a few if us set it up round and drove in T posts to keep it stationary.

t-post, string, spray paint. Very easy. Hardly any thinking involved.

You guys are overthrowing this. Lay all panels down end to end overlapping as needed. Wire together at ends. You should end up one long panel. Get a buddy and stand up panels and bend around in a circle. Wire ends together and add t posts where needed.

We use 10-12 panels and bailing wire, also tie them together before standing them up

I strongly support the earlier recommendation to make it square or at least straight lines to each T post. If you have cows, you'll want a top strip of barbed wire, and the only way to keep the barbed wire above the panels is to run straight lines. And easier to make a door too.

FWIW, it has been my experience that with rectangular/sqare pens that are constructed of 34" hog panel is not particulalry effective as hogs will climb out at the corners. Even have them jump the panels. Fifty-inch panel works better. Any new pen I bulid will be round using 50" panel.

Ya!

That’s what I did. Pushed the t posts in my tractor bucket. Just make sure it’s round so a deer can’t get trapped in a corner.

You guys don’t have a problem with the hogs jumping over those short panels? I made a trap like that, walked up to shoot the pig and that mofo jumped over the panel, i about cr@pped myself, thankfully it ran the opposite direction of me.

I have 34” hog panels and I watch hundreds of them every day and night. Never had a hog get in and there are some monsters here.

I wonder if it’s because my little pen is too small? This pig wasn’t very big, maybe 100lbs, but it jumped the panel like a fricking deer. My pen is about 15’ wide and 30’ long, I quit setting it after the escape.

Big motivational difference between a hog wanting in to eat or out to escape death. Haven't had any getting into a pen with hog panels.

I used the hose clamps to connect all my panels to the t-posts, except the gate. No overlap, never had any trouble with hogs they're simple to put up an take down no messing with ties or wire, 3 per post where two panels come together. Found them cheap on Amazon.

I see a pic of the T post inside the pen and another outside the pen. Pros & cons of either way?

Keeping 'em in or out... make 'em push against the post.

Guessing you meant post on inside of panels of the pen? That is the way I had mine setup before with the post on the inside of the panel of the pen.

Going to put up 10 panels, they are 16' long each, so this is my train of thought, please chime in on better ways to do it.

Each panel 16' long X 10 equals 160' - 6" per panel overlap = 60"/5' - 160' = 155' circumference for the round pen.

Diameter of 155' circumference is 49'.3" ÷ 2 to get the radius or center of the circle would be '24.65".

So I guess the obvious is to determine where I want the center of the pen to be, drive a steak there then come out basically '24.5" and start driving T Post.

Does this sound right or am I missing something?

Appreciate any and all help getting this done right.

BTW I have 21 T Post, using three on the first panel, then two on each panel after, that way there is on on each end and one in the middle.

With all due respect. You buy the panels. Then you lay them out on the ground. Then you lay your post down. then you start on the first post/panel and wire it up. Then you go to the next panel (the panels do bend) - then you repeat. methinks you are making too much of this process! Good luck

Well I am surprised that none of you Buffalo Breaths caught my miss calculation!

Well I am surprised that none of the Buffalo Breaths on here caught my mistake.

It only takes 20 T Post, not 21.

3 on 1st panel, 2 on the next 8 and only 1 on the 10th panel for it will already have end post from 9th panel and the very 1st panel scratch
