We are going, but I won't go sit in the blind when it's over about 85. All I do is sweat and scare deer off in the hot afternoon hunts.

I'll take my bow but most likely I'll blast doves instead of deer hunting. Our deer are still very nocturnal, which isn't unusual for that area.

i was at the lease today filling feeders and installing a new spin timer with my buddy. No way in HE77 I would be sitting in a deer blind in this heat. I'll leave it to the hardcore boys and girls.

Not me. But I will still be working getting ready for season. The works never ends.

This time of the year I’ll make a morning sit but evenings are usually out.

Don’t know why but it doesn’t feel like hunting season here just yet.

I'm already there and no one else is coming to the lease. I have a couple bachelor groups of bucks following a pattern. With no weather changes for a few days and no hunting pressure due to the heat I am hoping they stay with it long enough for me to connect with a good one. Because of the heat, my hunts will be short based on when they have been moving. If I am seeing Deer, I might stay all week. I have cool AC in the camper for mid day naps and a dog for company.

it will be the first opening I will miss in many years. Nephew in Florida is getting married that weekend. I called him and asked if it was too late to re schedule. I was expecting him to be here. He told me that it wasn’t his idea. His fiancé, mom and fiancés mom worked out the details. I told him that he was getting off on the wrong foot and needed to take control. I can’t think of anything that can screw up a guys life more than 3 females.

I hear ya. Family first. My wife is a co-founder and secretary for a cancer charity. Their annual fundraising event ended up being the same weekend as the archery season opening every year so for her I missed the hunting season opening for several years. Now the event is only every other year, so I am FREE and hunting in the morning, but next year I will miss the archery opener yet again.

I'm in the same situation. Two bucks on my list of possibles are showing up like clockwork along with about a dozen other bucks in two bachelor groups. I'm hoping to connect with one of them this weekend before they start feeling the rut and change up. Just not looking forward to the prospect of dealing with the meat in such a hurried manner as will be required in this heat.

Just made it out and will be hunting in the morning and see what’s moving. I plan to stay at least through the Sunday morning hunt but am off on Monday so maybe longer if it looks promising.
