It is a savage. Ugly but it will shoot. I have a few or them and they all shoot sub MOA

I used to have a 111. Now have a 12. They'll shoot all right. Haven't seen a Savage yet that won't. Eject? Maybe. There is an aftermarket fix if it won't.

Good hunting gun. Scope I’d have to upgrade though.

I need a little tack driver like that for this place I am hunting this year. Nothing really over about 75 yards. I will blow out the shoulder with my 7mm Rem Mag. Might be taking only ear hole shots if I don't get something smaller.

I have a 12 and a 10T that ejection is getting iffy on. What aftermarket fix do you recommend? Sorry not intending to hi-jack the original thread...

Yep, I have a Savage 111 in 25-06 laminated thumbhole stock topped with a Lupy and it's a deer killing machine. I call it my lightning bolt.
Never had any ejector issues with it, that I can remember...I've got a 110, 111, 112, & a B-Mag and love them all.

Ammo can be a little hard to find sometimes but IMO the 25-06 is one of the most underrated calibers for taking deer. Does the job on hogs too. Mine is a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight, one of the last to leave the FN plant in Columbia, SC. Shoots as good as it looks.
I own three Savages and have yet to experience any ejection issues and all are sub-MOA.

Someone wanted to buy this stock, but PMs are all gone. If it doesn't sell in the classifieds I'm going to put a new stock on it. If you were interested in it, PM me again.

This is the one that I bought. https://kinneysshootingsupply.com/ss-2401-savage-enhanced-extractor-ejector-kit/ It fixed my problem. You don't necessarily need an aftermarket kits. What you really need to do it replace with the ejector and the extractor claw. You can buy both these parts from somewhere like Midway with factory replacements. The extractor you simply push over, being careful not the loose the spring and ball behind it. The extractor is a bit more difficult as you will have to punch out a retaining pin. Note that I've has such difficultly on my first one years ago I ultimately couldn't ge the pin out so I have a whole new bolt head on my original model 10. Btw, I have a set of go /no-go gauges since I installed my own barrel so I checked the headspace. It did NOT need the barrel reset, but i was able to at least check. I can't remember which is primary problem but I replace both on Savage bolt heads when I have had this issue. My current 260 was this exact rifle that i bought from a guy on here. Upgraded the trigger along with the change to 260 and shoots like a champ. I can also guarantee i will have to replace the extractor and ejector some time in the future. I can already see how it dont' eject as well as my main Savage rifle. I know some don't ever have ejection issues but I definitely had it after about 3000+ rounds through the thing.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

Looks good and I bet it will shoot! Let us know how it does at the range.
For folks asking about the ejector, a new spring costs about $10 and a full deluxe ejector kit is $30.

I built blocks to hold rifle bolts in the vise. Could have bought them, but needed them right away. So I built them out of hard wood. Get a piece of brass. Hook it in the extractor, rotate to push the ejector in with my right palm. Index finger and thumb holding the punch. Left hand running the hammer. I hang a 5 gallon bucket off the bolt, and drive the roll pin into it. Slowly release the piece of brass. It's a 3 handed job, I've figured out how to do two handed. The Savage ejector spring is a smaller diameter than many other rifles. And may be lower quality steel. I don't know. But I do know, I have one Savage bolt that went through four ejector springs, until I just gave up. It doesn't eject, so I have to pluck out the spent brass.

Have you tried the aftermarket ejector/extractor? Supposedly heavier springs, and the ball detent has a larger ball as well. I don't know if it would hold up to the volume that you put through it, but it did work for me when the factory replacement didn't hold up but for about 200 rounds.

It's my prairie dog rifle. It is alright that it doesn't eject. Keeps me from losing brass on the prairie. I use that rifle 3 days a year, for 600 rounds.
