Very true statement, trees or people.

Sometimes you have to grab the saw.

I’m guessing about 90’ and clueless on the age but I’ll try and get a pic of the base before it’s ground up. The roads being widened so it’s in the new right of way unfortunately.

I wish you could somehow still have it stay, like in a center island. Those are the finest DWI/DUID checkpoints I've seen. They are typically permanent checkpoints too.

Is that because of the shade they provide?

A forestry guy told me you can in fact count rings to get the age.

But, a light ring AND a dark ring = one year.

It’s a big old White oak and the state owns the tree, If you have a semi swing by and I’ll load up that 30,000 pound log LOL

Poppa that’s us on 205, we’ll be finished within a week thank goodness if the weather holds out, We still have some smaller projects going on a few side roads but the main part is about completed and will be moving the big equipment onto 545 outside Melissa for a quick 9 mile job.

They rough aged it at 122 years old and 101 feet tall, it would have made a nice pile of lumber. It would be cool to know how much lumber we threw away though hammer
