Came Friday, we were out of town and came home last evening. After coffee this morning I opened the box ready for 10 rounds of WiFi satellite internet fight, but to my surprise the setup and configuration was to EZ. Downloaded the App to my phone, followed the steps per the App, set an SSID and password and it was done. :hammer Unit comes with a 75' cable between the dish and router, I'll have to find a place to mount it to the house, but for now it will sit in the front yard. Dish picture and speed test results. The speed is day & night difference from the only option we had (Verizon Hot Spot).

My phone just came up 66 at my ranch with AT&T so I’m okay apparently. The house is HughesNet though and it’s so slow.

Looks good.
Is it portable, so you can take it with you?

I guess you can. They sell an RV/mobile unit but this would work, don't see why not.

You should be able to regularly get speeds over 100 Mbps. When I test mine, it's usually ~120-150.

Is it portable, so you can take it with you? It's physically portable. But not unless you change your account from residential to mobile.
To be determined

That satellite train looks kinda cool chugging across the sky. There are more than 5,000 of them now. The trail you sometimes see is from a recent launch with the satellites moving into position.

With all the equipment on today's cable and fiber-based networks that require AC power, wireless and satellite-based networks are far more reliable. So long as you have a backup power source in your home, there's nothing to fail between your home and the cell towers and satellites.

I saw one of those trails couple weeks ago and was trying to figure it out what it was. Pretty cool looking.

$600.00 for the router & dish (you own the equipment) and have 30 days to return if not satisfied. $120.00 monthly fee. For us living in the country it was a no brainer because our only option for internet was a Verizon hot spot which was slow and $80.00 per month.

So long as you have a backup power source in your home, there's nothing to fail between your home and the cell towers and satellites. There are ground based stations that communicate with the satellite and transfer data. It has to bounce back down to ground to connect to the network/internet. https://starlinkmag.com/starlink-ground-station-locations/It's important to note Starlink is not intended as a replacement or alternative to high-speed wired internet through cable or fiber. It's for people who don't have access to high-speed wired internet (or possibly cellular). For us it really opened up travel possibilities as full-time RVers.

Just got our email regarding our residential starlink confirmation. Got on list sometime the beginning of 2022. Been using the mobile version but definitely gets throttled from time to time.

It took almost 2 years? I've been on the list since the first of this year. Was hoping mine would be soon but maybe not.

My brother got the RV/mobile Starlink - no waitlist, and we now use it at the ranch in South Texas when down there hunting, etc. He and I both work remote (on computer) and can now go down to the ranch without having to take 'days off from work' !!!!!! worth every penny of the cost re:this! Soon as it cools down a bit, he's gonna spend a MONTH at the ranch, without taking any time off work!
It runs pretty reliably for remote RDS sessions, Zoom conferences, and phone WiFi calling - great because cell-signal at ranch camp is lousy, and now we can take/make calls.

I have too many trees to use Starlink and it's a lot more expensive than Rise Broadband, our current provider.

It's not really intended for people who already have good internet service available.

Our place in fannin county is in a dead spot for direct line of sight for internet antenna type services. Cell service is mediocre as well. Thanks why we went with Starlink.
