I got a package deal the other day and it included a Colt preban A2. Match Target with a 4 digit serial number. I am not a AR fan so I am dumb to the values. I broke this gun down and it looks unfired. It has a Simions elcheapo scope on the carry handle in a nice mount. When looking up values they are all over the place so setting a value is hard. I know some of y'all will poke me with crazy lowball offers , so give it your best shot. I might talk slow but I don't think slow. Any real help will be appreciated. Thanks, Nebo

Most will be under 2k. Is it a big pin or a small pin gun? I personally will not even consider a big pin gun.

Do you have any pics? Non threaded barrel I’m assuming since it’s an older match. You mentioned carry handle which I’m assuming is non removable since the scope is attached.

The best option to sell and get top money is on a board or auction site that has people from Mass that watch for "PreBan" AR's. Double check as several state laws have recently changed.
The BIG money in prebans was 2-3 years ago.

I am sorry for being tardy on answering the post. I was out of town working. The barrel is not threaded, carry handle is not removable and serial # prefix CST. I am trying to figure out if I am going sell or make it a keeper.

The CST prefix would actually be post-ban, about 1997 or later. It probably wouldn’t have had a flash hider originally, but a lot were added after the ban.

It has no flash hider. Barrel is heavy profile and target crown . It is not found in Colts lookup. It has the old lower receiver like a M16 with all the cut outs. The Colt spacer they put in to block where the autosear goes.

A pre-ban match A2 would have no flash hider, a 20" barrel, and a carry handle receiver. Not sure why those questions were asked. What about the pin diameter? Wait, the date tells us. I saw those go for $2300 during the 2013 scare. It's a $900 rifle to me.

Thanks guys! I found the serial # guide finally. It was made in late 97 so not a preban. I still believe it's unfired because it has no sign of burnt powder anywhere in the gas system. I don't have the box for it so still have no idea of the value. I do think y'all for your help.
