Seeing buildup, actually shot all females this weekend, which I believe are the last ones here. Last year was 2nd best year, but most consistent in 15 years that I have kept records. This year, would call it a trickle.

Everyone else? Would imagine since I have water, which my wetland should be ideal this weekend- it’s been pretty tough. Shot a few geese last hunt.

I definitely believe moon phases drives BWT migrations- this year verifying my data.

We had the most birds we’ve seen in 5 years. Hoping the same continues for big duck. Last few years have been tough.

Have been a lot of blue wings this year. Everything we have shot still has eclipse plumage so they all look like hens.

Have had big numbers of blue wings. Can't wait to get back out there!

Eclipse plumage, they all look like hens...until you look at the color of their feet...

I know the drakes have a larger white patch on the speculum. And first year birds have tail feathers that are less filled in. I don't know about the color of the feet?

I have been told drakes feet are a bit more orange in color and the hens are more drab and greyish. No idea if it's true or not.

During early teal season the feet and white on the speculum is how you can tell. Drakes have bright orange feet.

Where’d the teal go the last 3-4 days? Was going so well then they vanished Thursday

They migrate all the way down into Central America and some as far as South America.

It’s been my experience that you get about 8-10 days during the early teal season to catch them moving through. We can usually count on 2 of the three weekends being productive.
