I was recently asked by a friend new to hunting to help him pick a scope. We discussed where and how he'll be hunting. Central Texas and from a deer stand. Shots could be out to 400 yards, and we both agreed that without significant practice, he shouldn't be taking a shot that far with his .308 Win. I told him one of my favorite scopes in his price range ($600sih) is the Riton 3 Primal 3-18X50 Illuminated Reticle, Parallax Adjustment, and FFP. An hour later, and after looking through mine as the sun set, he said he would order one. There is a lot to think about when selecting an optic, but at the end of the day, you need to choose the one that will work the best for your needs. Hill Country rifle

Longtime hunter/shooter/fisherman who loves being outdoors. I used to hunt/compete with my son, but he's now stationed in Germany. Never enough time.

Truth in that.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
