Looking to be around 10% for both. I just renewed my Defensive Driving discount, and the wife will do hers for the first-time next week or so, That'll help some.

Homeowners went from $3200 to $5k.
I shopped and still couldn’t do any better for the same coverage.
Inflation strikes again.

most all of the insurance companies are in the same boat and increases will occur with them all - we are located in Texas - has anyone noticed the massive increase in traffic where you live? People are driving like maniacs in today's world - I see it everyday - In Georgetown I use to see an occasional wreck - now it is almost every day -

You'll pay the man whether you like it or not. Remember...you're not paying for your claim free or good driving record.

Yep, this is how it will work out for many. Price points will lead people to unwittingly accept less coverage from someone who doesn't inform them appropriately. It's what is happening. Our office ain't going that route and never will.

Premiums are continuing to go up. No doubt (none) about that. The property and casualty industry is in disarray – almost 30 billion in losses last year and this year has started off even worse. Markets are disintegrating and all we are seeing is more restrictive underwriting, less coverage and ever increasing prices. Been doing this almost 40 years and have never been a part of such a market. Although the insuranc ecompanies had a big hand in this, insurance is on the end of the inflation trail, something we used to refer as being spiraling inflation. Unless our leaders in DC start to address the issues so prevalent in our national economy and everyday lives, I fear it will only get worse.

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

I kept both at bay, but the company cancelled the product I was using for my rentals which excluded wind damage. Thus 450% increase or drop insurance all together! Not descided yet

I was with Safeco and had very good rates. Truck renewed in June and house in August. Total increase was about 30%. I started shopping in May. I have an independent agent but thought I would try a different one so I called Boekner. They got me some decent rates initially but then started asking ?s about who lived at my house. They sent me a list including my ex who moved back in last year. They increased the original quotes and they came in about the same as Safeco. So I called my agent back and she got lower rates with the same underwriter. At the end of the day truck and house went up 14%. From what I recall the largest part of the increase was on the truck.

I think the published inflation rates are BS. I calculated my inflation on insurance and electricity as a % of my total spend and it about what the government publishes for total inflation.
