Temps look amazing next weekend to get out into the field and not pass out from dehydration. Lows down in the 60's and highs in the upper 80's. What do y'all expect from this front coming in? More birds pushing in or the birds we already have pushing out? From my experience it's always a toss up. Btw saw a good group of BWT this morning in Frisco.

You got it right, it's a toss up and no way to tell. The weather will be pleasant, so I say get out and enjoy, regardless of bird numbers.

I'll be curious to see what everyone's seeing by next Tuesday/Wednesday. This'll be my first time in the field this season so obviously praying for a big push of new birds, but am super excited regardless to be out there with friends.

We have had one of the best dove seasons in years here but the last day or two it’s slowed way down. I have about 100 teal but can’t get on them until next Saturday, hopefully they build with the cold front. This lake can hold thousands sometimes..

BradyBuck we'll be out near you next weekend! Opening weekend everyone out there averaged around 5-10 per person down south of Baird. Hoping to see some teal too while we're out there. We'll see how things are looking next week.

Well what do y'all think the verdict is from this front? Good one or a bad one bird wise? Temp wise there is absolutely no complaint. I've noticed more birds up in the Frisco area, but have no idea what it looks like out west towards Abilene. Hoping for the same. Any eyes out that way to give a little report?

Much better front coming in tomorrow up here, highs in 50's. Should get our birds moving South.

I hope so! Highs in the 50's don't sound too bad right now.

We usually see all our birds head South right before the season opens or we get a big freeze and have no open water so they head South.
Tons of birds around right now but I bet this weekend they start down. I sure miss early teal season, we don't have one. Dove rarely stay around past Labor Day but are still here now, til this weekend.

I seen a lot of birds flying this morning in North Texas but I also seen more than a few hunters stuck on the side of the road so I’d be cautious where you drive. One of my guys sent some pics from the Sweetwater area and there were a ton of birds this morning. I hope all of you guys get into them thick and heavy this weekend

The west got a hurricane last night. I drove thru it. Every pond tank water hole that was dry got filled up in one shot. Saw birds in Abilene in the usual spot of 20 but the difference was the power lines were loaded up full of birds. I’m gona shoot teal localy but I’m itching to go back to my place out west

It is a mud bog on my place. 3.8" through the week with 1.1 this morning. I've seen more birds the past two days moving in and water everywhere in Taylor Co.

Well here's an update for y'all! Got to the ranch later than we wanted and scouted around for teal. No teal so we headed towards the field around 6-6:30. Had a decent amount of birds flying but not a lot of time to get set up in the right spot etc, ended up leaving the field with 8 birds. Saturday morning woke up to an absolute downpour and that storm ended up pushing out most of the birds. Ended Saturday night with 4 birds. Sunday morning didn't see much flying in the field, but we watched thousands of dove flying high headed south so it's probably going to get pretty good out there. Ranch got 5.15" of rain over 3 days.
