Any of y'all use one, and does it help for low back and leg pain? Amazon seems to have a few good options, any recommendations or models to stay away from?

Thanks! up

My wife uses one for her lower back. Ironman, bought it off CL. I tried it, but I had a panic attack!

Have had one for years. Best lower back pain treatment ever. You need to develop the knack of relaxing your muscles when on it to get full benefit. I don't go full upside-down - but set it for about a forty-five-degree angle. About five minutes on the table with a little twisting side to side for the last two minutes and I'm done.

If you can't laugh at yourself, give me a call. I'll gladly laugh at you.

Wife had a friend that had one and sweared by it, I went upside down on it a couple of times and could feel a difference, the back felt better.

Wonder how that would feel on a newly replaced knee?

I use mine as needed for lower back, hip, leg pain at a slight angle for about the time it takes for a song or two to play. Can increase stretch with shoulder roll. Works for me.

I don't have the best memory, but thought you had to be careful on those if you have uncontrolled blood pressure. I might be thinking about something else, though.

I have the teeter. Bottom two lumbar discs are ruptured. Doesn’t bother me most of the time. Inversion table helps when it flares up. Getting old is not for sissies…

I have one, and I use it daily.

If a person simply has lower back pain due to muscles, stiffness, NOT stretched out enough, laziness, no fitness in one's life, then using an inversion table can help to S-T-R-E-T-C-H out those muscles and "spine."

If a person has a damaged spine, vertebrae, the be careful. There's not really a way to determine if inverted "weight and pulling" will do more damage.
Doctors do not really know. They think they do.

One must experiment if one chooses.

I have damaged vertebrae, but I exercise, swim, stretch, use the table regularly. I refuse to become a couch slob/sloth.
I will always be active no matter what.

You decide if a table is right for you.

As for recommendations, I'd say reading reviews is the best thing to do. Your own "height and weight" will help in the "determination." IN65

this. I have one that I use exactly the same way. Don't do the full upside down "Batman" thing.

As said above, I have an Iron man II inversion table.

My Knee surgeon says yes.

my back doctor says no.

always ask your Doc what they think before you climb on one of these.

Thanks again, guys. Doc made the recommendation to get one.

Now I have it and it's assembled, I'm working on figuring out the routine. I saw BG's 5-min routine, but anything else? How many times per day? When? Pre-workout? Post-workout? First thing before coffee? Just before bed? Etc., etc.

I’ve used one for years along with lots of rolling, soft tissue body maintenance and working out. I’m 45. Do not use it alone. Have someone there to dump you back over if something happens. Don’t be twisting, let gravity do the work. It takes a minimum of 90 seconds for decompression. Also, make dang sure it is assembled correctly. I know a guy that was upside down and somehow fell on his head and broke his neck. Also, subscribe to The Ready State and learn body maintenance through soft tissue work with various rollers. It’s the best website I have found for the price.

I’d also recommend checking with your doctor before you hang upside down especially if you are older. But you said you have.

I have nerve pain in my hip that runs down my leg. Would this thing help that? It think it was really aggravated this deer season when I sat on stand for 12 hours straight for about 50 of the 90 day season.

In theory, yes. Supposed to at least temporarily open the foramen through which your nerve roots exit the spine. Flattening discs cause this opening to collapse putting pressure on your nerve, which causes the ridiculopathy (leg pain). Only way to know is to try it.

I’m in the same boat. I stay in top shape all year and then deer season hits and I get stiff, soft, and hurt. I’m starting back tomorrow. You can slowly start on decompression by hanging on a pull-up bar or anything you can get to. (Door frame, shop rafter….

Yep, "flattening discs", "foramen" and "nerve roots exiting spine" all ring a bell. Sounds like me but I havent done much about it cause this deer season was really first time it caused an issue. After a couple weeks away from season its almost all gone.
