So a person living in a 5000 sq. Home is an idiot.

Got it.

Maybe require everyone to live in a 1500sq. 3/2 instead or even better, government housing projects.

That’s what we need to do.

I just went and scrolled through his previous posts to verify he is who i thought. Remember if you dont have 1000 acres your opinion doesnt matter to him. Every one that lives in a city is an idiot to him.

dude never has anything positive to say. Pretty sure he probably lives alone and hasnt touched a piece of agricultural equipment in 15 years.

Nailed it. I think if I were that miserable I would end it.

I've driven through Katy once. I would definitely end it if I had to spend my life there.

Some folks just gotta look down on other folks. What a sad, @#$%^&* way to live.

Don’t forget a yard that looks like the fairway in Augusta.

Yards don’t require electricity to maintain….

Maybe if we hadn’t let yuppies (thanks Obama) shut down the coal fired plants we wouldn’t be in this situation.

Nuclear is the way forward.

I'm all in on using energy to produce something. The pivots are producing corn and coastal hay which is feed. However I'm not in favor of all the subdivision mcmansions that people build just so they can waste energy peter measuring.

The reality is most those new McMansion use less electricity they country houses of your county.(foundation or double wide)

Those McMansion finish outs arent builder grade built to country code. 6” exterior walls with 6” of closed cell insulation makes them pretty efficient.

Regardless wether home, Irrigation or strip club the shortage is due to triffling federal regulation and soon to be carbon credits. almost all homes are way more efficient then they use to be

I'd be happy to curtail usage...if the electric company made it worth it to me.
I am on a fixed rate...they are the one facing $2.50 - $4.00 a KWh for buying peak demand, if they did not have contracts in place to cover their customers when it gets hot.

If I have to to sweat and all I save is the $0.105/ KWH that my 3 year fixed contract says, then no way I am sweating.

Now split the difference and give me a $1.25 - $2.00/ KWH for reducing my usage and I am all in. That is $10 - $26 per hour I could save during peak times. By generator burns about $2.50 an hour in propane.

We all need to practice Whoa more.

Well, maybe not directly, but indirectly. The city or town has to pump it to you. up

Producers VS Consumers.

Too many consumers now. The people that actually produce any type of food/energy are few and far between. No garden's, livestock or poultry. Just manicured lawns and HOA's.

I was at a big farm yesterday outside of Albany. Huge garden, big herd of cows and solar panels to power the ranch house.

Two totally different types of people.

cant have one with out the other. Cant have producers with out consumers and cabt have consumers with out producers. He who is more efficient is the one that benefits the most off the other.

As far as energy consumption per the definition producers use the most, but Again Goverment caps its usage and limits supply to raise costs

It doesn’t really work that way. You can’t ramp up a big generator with no where for it to go. Supply and demand have to to stay pretty close.

That's the problem. Because you can't feasibly store excess power created by generators connected to the grid, what isn't used becomes unsellable waste. The same is true for transmission bandwidth where the term "just in time delivery" is sometimes used.

It also points to why solar with on-site batteries is being pushed by some in the power industry.

Do you not believe the solar fields will change the climate? Can you imagine the air temp above a solar array when it is 110 . It has to change things. I also have seen some scientists say the windmills change the weather patterns by disrupting the wind flow. These are unintended consequences that were probably not thought about before hand.

$410 wouldn't last a full week!

Yes indeed! Solar and Wind Farms are inefficient and are targeting lands that are essential to out food and feed supplies.

It truly is.
I.C.E. generators are terribly inefficient - 80% of your energy input (fuel) goes out the muffler pipe as waste heat, netting you 20% in electricity.

In summer, it's kinda a necessity (to power an AC),
but in winter you're FAR better off BURNING the fuel (nat gas/ propane) in a central furnace as they are 80-97% efficient!
Running a generator in winter to power resistive heat-strips is throwing away 80% of the thermal energy and running up a massive fuel bill!

My 6500 watt gas gen is just for keeping the necessities going: 2 aquariums, 2 refers, 1 freezer, internet/tv, submersible pump and robot for the pool, and in the summer a window unit ac and fans. Winter, we have the fireplace and an 18k btu Buddy heater.

It a lot cooler than last week, but...

8/30 /2023 7:45 PM The forecasted demand exceeds the forecasted available generation.

The wind is dying down about the time the sun starts to go down.
There were some unplanned outage of thermal (nat gas) generators.

That time of day, there is not much contracted interruptible commercial and industrial usage that they can tell to shut down.

When the little blue dots get above the little purple dashes, something has to give.
