I have a 4x6 plywood ground stand that I am moving to another location, but it needs to be elevated, mostly for safety reasons. I don't have access to any heavy equipment to lift it up. It already rests on 8 inch concrete blocks. It might be possible to raise it up one more block with floor jacks and a lot grunting and groaning, but that starts to get a little unstable and another 8 inches hardly makes a difference. Any thoughts on how to get this done, other than buying a new stand?

if the base is sturdy enough, you can add brackets to the base and elevate using 4x4 posts (we always cross brace). once you put on the brackets, install appropriate length 4x4 and use a winch (or truck with strap) to raise it up into position.

something like these brackets

What are you moving it to a new location with, a pickup?

Post pic's of your stand and I'll be able to give you some ideas on how to get it up vertical. Mine, I assemble legs, attach platform, then one wall at a time followed by the roof cap. Works for me, you may have a different set of challenges. I think in my first life I built pyramids, we'll figure this one out.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

If you can get it into the back of a pickup build a base and slide it onto the base. We did this with a 4x8 and it worked well. Blind onto trailer w/ trailer hooked to truck and tailgate down. Then lifted blind onto trailer rail and slid into the truck bed. Built a base and slid the blind out of the truck onto the base. Was a two man job and that blind was heavy.

I've used the same technique as 68rustbucket to set blinds several times. Also works in reverse.
Here's the most recent one. That's a 12 foot tower, btw.
Works well, just don't get too aggressive on the winch or pulling vehicle when raising.

I use the elevator brackets and 4x4’s cut to different lengths. Set up the base & blind on the ground, lift one side& place two 2 foot 4x4’s, lower it. Lift the other side & install 4’ posts, lower it. Lift the two ft side & install 6’ posts. Just keep going up until you get to your desired height.

You’l have surplus lifting posts. But, they’ll be needed when you need to remove or move the blind.
