Good pic! up Not me. 'Can't believe what prices have gotten to for a guided Pronghorn hunt. I did one guided a few years ago and was successful. I drew Rita Blanca two years ago and couldn't make myself pull the trigger on a good buck that was in the scope at 500 yds. I'm not that guy and didn't want to risk hitting him poorly. There was no getting closer.

A BIG Thumbs up to you for knowing your limitations & respecting the animal. Lots of slobs would be throwing lead out there even though they can't hit the side of a barn at 100yrds. up up

I didn't draw a tag this year, last year either. Last year's winter mortality was horrific, tags are getting harder to get.

No license for me this year, couldn't draw up here in Wyoming.
Spouse drew an any antelope tag though so off we'll go to Saratoga for his hunt in Sept.

I hunted the panhandle one year and had a blast.
Andrew many years back I bought a trespass fee pronghorn hunt in Texas from an outfitter at a show. I got the licenses and land to hunt for $600. Jumped on that deal and it was a fun DIY hunt.
I would call some LOs in the panhandle and ask about tags from them directly.

Good luck folks, fun animals to hunt and taste great.
Buy PPs for Wyoming, they will bounce back and easy to get in a DIY hunt in the right areas. https://wgfd.wyo.gov/hunting/preference-points

Saw a nice buck at the Covered S yesterday between Snyder and Post. He and his group are near HWY 84 about 1/4 trips when I come by. Gave me the itch but I can't go this year.

I think I'll hold out for a year or two and try to do the mulie/ph combo in Wyoming.

Just going to buy a point for Wyoming this year. Last time for me was 2018 and I did shoot a decent one at 500 yards.

No tag this year. But that's ok. Pulled this one off the Comanche Natl Grasslands in Southern CO last season.

Angus , what caliber you shooting to get it done at 500 yards . Been thinking about one of those hunts for a while before I get too old . 270 or 308 is my only long range gun now . May have to step up a notch.

It is a Tikka in .300WSM shooting a Nozler 180 gr. Accubone. The gun is not stock I've had a break installed, trigger job, cheek piece installed and a kick Ezz pad.
Hand loaded ammo. Gun is topped with a Leupold Mark 4 4.5x14 with M1 turrets.

If getting into LR Shooting there are lots of choices. I put money into this gun because I won it at an RMEF dinner and wanted to see how it preformed. To my surprise it's a shooter.
Good luck,

Same, a short bucket list mount for me, Seen a lot of them, but not in a hunt situation. Years ago I had an open spot near Ft Davis, but my funds where tapped out for that year, hunt was only $1600 on nearly 100k acres, huge opportunity lost.

Last i checked, it was a lot more expensive.

I love looking at them and they make for a great trophy, but it's certainly not my favorite type of hunt. I have one great trophy and that's probably enough for me.

They are weird looking animals for sure. But I would enjoy going on a trip someday. Just not this year.

Should have a double header in South Dakota and Montana in October. Still waiting on the draws in both those states.

They are very tasty, one of my favorite game meat. The secret to antelope care is to get them skinned and cooled down ASAP.
