Sure, I would. I would also, and have, hunted high fence places. Big ones and little ones. I judge the hunt based on the experience and not on quantitative factors that otherwise have no bearing on how I enjoy the hunt. And with one exception, I have enjoyed them all. The one exception had nothing to do with the size of the property and everything to do with the obvious and overly done put and take operation. Shooting animals as they come off the trailer was a bit much for me.

I'm not opposed to hunting on an island in general, but it's usually not allowed in a state park. It's probably full of campers and such.

When we were there they were begging for hunters for the Axis that are overrunning several areas.

As for the OP, yep, I have hunted 12.5K acres, high fences on three sides, no fence on the other (Frio River)......loved it.

Without giving too much info ,, there is an island on a certain river that is accessible by 4x4 during extreme dry years.
I was in my teens , Quail hunting with my Father , Grandfather and Uncle, It was one of the best days of quail hunting
I have ever experienced in #'s of coveys. 15 ish . Terrain is open meadows surrounded by wooded , deeply eroded areas.
So there was no hunting singles.

The fact that is was a island did not factor into the hunt at all. The layout is such that Deer or Turkey hunting would be just as
challenging as any tract of land anywhere.

I live close to an island, I wish they had a draw hunt on said island, I have seen first hand what lives on that island! I would hunt it in a heartbeat, it is maybe 300 acres in size. Deer swim a long ways so comparing to a high fence for those who seem to get so wound up about it does not hold water where an island is concerned.
