As I get older, I like to be prepared for the worst. Along with getting older, I'm getting weaker, so I bought a cordless impact wrench last week with sockets that fit truck and trailer lugnuts. I have the easy jack ramp thing to simplify changing a tire on tandem axle trailer and I always carry a high lift jack but I want something good for the truck itself. I want it to have a flat bottom with a decent sized footprint In case I have to use it in dirt / gravel. What do y'all think about this one? Any other suggestions? 2019 silverado 1/2 ton.
Cant get it to post as a link so you'll have to copy and paste in your browser

I would turn to YouTube. Search by name of jack. I expect you will find several reviews.

A floor jack is the best but they're pretty big and bulky to haul around. For something portable I personally like a bottle jack. Carry one in both my truck and my Jeep. They seem to require the least amount of effort for the amount of lift.

Too small. I want minimum 6,000 lbs. Would love a larger version of that with a way to use the impact wrench to raise and lower.

Bottle Jack and six 18" section of 2"x10". I keep them in a single layer in the bottom of my tool box. The 2x12s have been used a lot more over the years than the Jack.

They make something like this with a hydraulic pump permanently affixed. You put a 3/4 socket on your impact and let the jack do all the work.

I like bottle jacks, but had one leak one time. Also, I bet that if you had one in a plastic container, out of sight out of mind, it could leak enough to not work. I like the various scissor jacks. You might need to adapt it to whatever you need for desired footprint. Just make sure it is greased a little bit to work it's best. Plus some of them have long handles where you don't have to be so far up under the vehicle----safer.

This might be even better, this one plugs in the cigarette lighter/power point and comes with a mini impact and compressor. Here’s a pic and a link.

"I agree with the 3-Ton posted above. I use two 12" x 12" pieces of 3/4" CDX plywood, screwed and glued together, for a solid base. The hex head on the shaft allows a portable drill to speed things up

I carry a battery impact and bought an electric jack.works really good only problem is my son borrowed it. So next birthday I’m buying him one so I can get mine back. I have floor jacks air jacks bottle jacks but this jack is easy to use. Haven’t used it on the side of the road yet and hoping I don’t have to any time soon. [Linked Image]

I usually just use what came in the truck. If I’m going somewhere with a trailer I toss my floor Jack in the truck.

Definitely the one. I like that it has a zipper case too. I will be keeping everything in back floor board. (under seat is filled by Pro Box)

I think I should stay away from the electric ones since this one will work with my Impact. Less things to mess up. If my impact goes out, I can still use the jack manually. Cordless too. I'm fixing to re-deck my front porch with 2x8's I'll have some scrap pieces I can save for a platform.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
