One of the greats. I've watched this man sing since I was a kid. Have a couple of his albums. Great pipes and never heard anything bad about Tony. Rest peacefully sir.

Was awarded a Bronze Star. from the wiki As the German Army was pushed back to its homeland, Benedetto and his company saw bitter fighting in cold winter conditions, often hunkering down in foxholes as German 88 mm guns fired on them.[26] At the end of March, they crossed the Rhine and entered Germany, engaging in dangerous house-to-house, town-after-town fighting to clean out German soldiers;[26] during the first week of April, they crossed the Kocher River, and by the end of the month reached the Danube.[27] During his time in combat, Benedetto narrowly escaped death several times.[10] The experience made him a pacifist;[10] he would later write, "Anybody who thinks that war is romantic obviously hasn't gone through one,"[25] and later say, "It was a nightmare that's permanent. I just said, 'This is not life. This is not life.'"[28] At the war's conclusion he was involved in the liberation of the Kaufering concentration camp, a subcamp of Dachau, near Landsberg, where some American prisoners of war from the 63rd Division had also been held.[27] He later wrote in his autobiography that "I saw things no human being should ever have to see.

What a guy. Never "connected" with the Vegas mob, as far as I know. He sang duets with some pretty young things well into his late 80s.

In the 70s and 80s he would play the Venetian Room at Fairmount Hotel in Dallas frequently. Had a lot of fans in this area.

Okay, so KD Lang isn't too great to look at, but the dike can sing. I miss Amy Winehouse, and, I know Lady Gaga is a loon, but that beautiful Jewish lady can knock it outa the park. And, that trumpet tattoo under her arm is to honor Tony.
