Out of curiosity, what is the oldest gun you have that you still school? Saw this on another forum and it was interesting to see the various types.

What does "school" mean?

My grandfather’s Model 12 Winchester that’s over 100 years old. And his Stevens 22 bolt action, pre serial number, so over 100 years old probably.

Stevens Junior 22. It’s around 110 years old. It still shoots.

Trapdoor Springfield made in 1886. Shoots well and is in great shape for its age. Thought about taking a buck with it this year.

Snake wins and that 1887 is a great example. It locks up and is machined for the time better than most currently if we are being honest.

Late 40’s early 50’s build FN commercial Mauser as far as “as built” setups. I do have a 1903 action build my grandfather built that the action itself is a bit older chambered in 22var.

Colt model 1903. It was manufactured in 1914. Still take it out to shoot on occasion. I also have a Winchester 1886 chambered in 38-56. I'd like to shoot it, but you really can't find ammo for it, and I'm not getting dies and forming cases for something that may get shoot a couple times, then put away.

I don't school any guns but this Colt is still in the family. Originally issued by the Texas Rangers new to a Great Great Grandfather. I have brass and a mold, have loaded smokeless rounds but I have not run any black through it. .32-20 from 1904.

My 1901 M96 Swedish Mauser is mine, and it gets frequent use at the hog stand. So far it's my most accurate rifle as well.

For other guns over 100 years old, I also have a 1915 Carcano cavalry carbine, a 1917 M95 Mannlicher, and a 1918 M/94/14 Swedish Mauser carbine. I also inherited my grandpa's Lefever 20 gauge SxS, not exactly sure when it was made but it was 1920s or earlier.

Volunteer Arms single shot 410. Not sure of the exact date, but my Great Uncle bought it between 1910 and 1920. I also have a Model 12 in 12 gauge from that same time period.

First year Marlin 39 ,1921, is the oldest that gets the most use. Got older but dont hunt with them.

My Father-in-law hunts almost exclusively with this '92 in 25-20 from 1897.
