Hoping someone can recommend a state park with least elevation or flattest campsites. Our go to was Fairfield, but it's closed now. I am disabled from birth defects but I am mobile to a degree. We previously tried Tyler state park. Our campsite and those around had way too many exposed tree roots and the elevation change was too much for me. I know most state parks have handicap spots, but I don't like using those for personal reasons. Hope to find one in North East Texas if possible, but willing to drive for the right spot. Thanks in advance.

I think Palmetto down here is pretty flat, but man I wouldn't head there 'til it's cooler.

Fort Richardson in Jacksboro is a very well kept State Park, and there are plenty of flat places to camp, walk or whatever.

You might look at Huntsville State Park or Mineral Wells Park is pretty. Bonham is pretty flat, nice place. Martin Creek is a lot like Fairfield.
Good luck!

Based on my recollection, Bob Sandlin, Purtis Creek and Cooper Lake have fairly level terrain and campsites.

I’d recommend either of the parks at Ray Roberts. Isle du bois has paved many side walks and trails, but both are nice and relatively flat. Every time we camp at the Johnson Branch, I tell my wife it reminds me of Fairfield. Lots of memories there.

Mother Neff, if you can get a spot, would be a good option. Flat sites and a huge new shower/bathroom facility. Nicest we’ve seen. And Dinosaur Valley State Park is nice, with good sites and shade, and they have a souvenir shop with cold drinks and ice cream sandwiches, which are nice in July. It’s close to Glen Rose, which has our favorite place for breakfast - The Big Cup Eatery.
If you like COE parks, as we do. Liberty Hill has some flat sites. Our favorite two sites are a bit sloped.
And Fort Parker State Park is nice, with good shade, but you’ll have to ask for a flat site. Some are too angled to use. The pull through sites are pretty flat.
And Meridian State Park doesn’t have a lot of sites, but they are all flat and mostly pull through. Most sites are shaded, but not all.
Have a great trip.

We enjoyed Dinosaur Valley State Park. 10 minutes down the road is fossil rim which is a drive through safari ranch. It was one of the nicer ones I have been to. Campsites are close together and I didn't like that.

The campground at Copper Breaks State Park is flat, open, no trees or other trip hazards at the campsites themselves.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Agree - try Cooper State Park, they have cabins with kitchens and ac. Several are ADA accessible.
Only at the end do you realize the power of the Dark Side.
