Looks like some good reading. Hard to beat good biographies and histories are almost always interesting and usually enlightening. Enjoy!

I’m reading Sniper’s Honor right now. Bob the Nailer is the central character, based loosely on Carlos Hathcock.

I just read a book by a guy that rode with Quantrill for several years. Pretty interesting.

I’ve been reading paper back Westerns (Shootemups) for years. There are, IMO, 2 types of authors. Those who are great authors and others great researchers. The researchers have walked the walk. Some have experience with a rough string. The authors are the pro writers.

Louis and Lamour is not a great writer but has walked the walk, talked to the old guys and really understand the subject.

My favorite is Elmer Kelton.

I’ve gotten a lot of books from flea markets. Dirt cheap. An old woman at the Bowie Flea Market will no longer take money from me. I decided to clean out a bunch and hauled four boxes to her. Now, y money is no good there.

Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
