...that the ol dodge gave me 2 days of trouble this past week.
Left for work, got about 3/4 of a mile down the road, and I noticed it just didn't feel right, like it was struggling to even go 50mph, let off the accelerator and it dropped down to about 600 rpm. Pulled into a dollar general parking lot (Thank God they're everywhere )
It idled just fine, and ran fine, then. decided to go back to the house and it idled like it had an aggressive cam in it, with a loud air noise.. started troubleshooting when I got home that evening, ruled out vacuum leak. Texted with a knowledgeable member on here, back and forth and he ultimately got me lined out on what was happening.
Ended up being the 02 sensors.
The 02 sensors send information to the computer and the computer tells the IAC valve how much air to allow in etc. And that was getting screwed up.


Anyway, got two new Bosch 02 sensors and it's back running like a Dodge instead of a Ford...

I do appreciate your honesty, young man, but it’s important to learn from your mistakes. First off, Ford isn’t necessarily the answer. Not when you’re talking half-tons, at least. Second off, Dodge is never the answer. Now you know.

That is a classic dodge at this point. For a first car he is dialed even though the dash will fall apart by dove season lol

Glad it was an easy fix.

I had a gas engine Dodge made in 1996. 3/4 ton 4WD. It wouldn't scatter chit with a rake tied to it.

2001 with a Cummins
2008 with a Cummins
2016 with a Cummins

I'm married to the engine, not the truck.

To be fair, took my Ford in for 100k miles service…turns out tie rods and drag link are toast, turned into an expensive trip.

I have an 03 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 with 175,000 miles. Dash is shot, wiring harness in both rear doors is shot, gas gauge shows full and then drops to empty, headliner falling down, had to replace the air conditioning vent doors, replaced ignition switch on left side of column. Drinks oil and water but still good enough for a farm truck. Sure don't get too far from the house.
