I’ve never owned a 410. My best freind had one growing up. We dove hunted together every day of season. I had a single shot 20ga. I did much better. I’d like to get one but they’re too expensive to shoot. I don’t reload shotgun shells anymore.

I’ll use a .410 bore if I have a water hole where birds are coming to water. Choke full and / or modified and use 7.5 shot. Lots of fun and no recoil.

I always use one of my .410's on opening weekend and later if I get a chance. An SKB over and under usually gets the nod, but I also have an older 870 Wingmaster that is a lot of fun. I will have to try the buffered load this year if I can find it.

I used a bolt action 410 when I first started out (age 9) and I could always get a limit with a box of shells or less. The birds were thick back then in Williamson county. Love my 28 gauge nowadays.

I bought a 410 auto last year and it’s a lot of fun to shoot. I used 2 1/2”shells for target and 3” shells to hunt with.
Light recoil and the 3” shells with 11/16 oz of shot you can get close to a light 20ga load. 3” 7 1/2s and 8s worked great on doves.
Shells are not as difficult to find anymore and will run you $13-$19 a box if you know where to look.
Have fun

No 410 here, just a simple Browning Citori in 20ga, easy to load, components are still available, at least for now.
On 410, supplies are hard to find at times. Remember back in the 60's every hardware store around town and county
always carried 410 shells. and they were the simple ole paper shells by remington old 6 shot. Killed a many of squirrels
with that old single shot!

shoot safe all.
