We got stuck in traffic behind a dead Tesla. I was wondering if they could be towed. Not asking for a friend…

I saw one being towed by a wrecker yesterday, the front end was picked up and it had a dolly looking thing under the rear wheels.,

I should have been more specific and asked if wheels could touch the ground when towed. I suppose not. Second one this week that I’ve seen like that.

I would think they are like some battery powered golf carts that arn't supposed to or can't be towed since the electric motors are connected to the axles or wheels.The cart I owned had a brake that locked the wheels when the key was off.
Not all those that wander are lost..

Towed to the the nearest salvage yard hopefully, They should make them charge the battery’s as their being towed, an outstanding marketing ploy with a picture showing one dragged behind a wrecker at high speed with smoke going everywhere  and under it in capital words “WINNING”

Per Tesla they should either be flatbed towed or towed using a dollies. They wheels should not touch the ground while being towed. So it sounds like one possibility would be to tow them on the roof. Harsh, but if Tesla says it, then it must be okay.

If someone is getting my vehicle it better be up on flatbed Yes, many companies just two wheel towing rigs, like the ones they use to tow cars at apartment complexes. I used to pretty active on a Subaru forum back in the day and there were always issues with people towing Subarus using two wheel rigs and messing up the transmissions, since almost all Subarus are AWD (except for the BRZ which is basically a rebranded Toyota FRS, RWD).
