Man I’m glad I asked, seems I’m in the minority shooting handguns with one eye squinted. Thanks for the feedback, I’m gonna try to learn something new

I get a good number of folks that visit and want to learn to shoot. Let me never again have to work with a newby right handed woman with a dominant left eye.

Make her use her left hand.

Shoot with the dominant eye.

A person can make the hands do anything. They cannot force their eyes to focus.

Shoot right handed but right eye not that dominant so I sort of squint left eye. If I'm bird hunting I have a small "dot" clear tape, on left lens of shooting glasses that kicks in a right eye dominance and I shoot with both eyes open.

I shoot left handed because I only have prereferral vision in my right eye due to cancer as a child. Everything else I do is right handed.

I'm pretty sure I shoot with left eye open and squinted (or closed) right eye on a rifle. Usually both are open, but not always, with a shotgun. Don't shoot pistols much.

Being right-handed, there have been a few times when I had to close my right eye to take left-handed shots when I couldn't turn to shoot an approaching deer or hog from a tree stand. Closing my right eye was/is the easiest way to get my left eye (and mind for that matter) to cooperate.
