Placard can be used if that person is in vehicle.

When I was driving my in laws around, I would use it about half the time. Often if Mrs LJ was along I would drop them at the door. Sometimes, it was one of them and me. Having no one to assist them into the building, dropping them at door was not an option. Those times, placard was blessing.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

I would never park in a handicap space. I do feel there are too many in most parking lots.

I use the handicap restroom stalls exclusively. I need my room.

Anyone caught using one illegally should have both knee caps busted, lazy bastards should feel the pain and need to own one.

My Dad, in his later years, was well qualified to get a handicapped card, but he was absolutely not going to admit he was handicapped. No way, no how!

And I agree with freerange, in that many places I go, it seems there are more handicapped parking slots than regular, with hardly any of them used. At Walmart though, all the hc slots would be full, but at more upscale places they wouldn’t be. Is there a social status to not have a hc sticker. Or folks with more money are less often physically limited. I don’t know, but there’s something there.

I hate walking past 50 yards of hc parking spots in July with nobody using them.

I had one after my foot surgery so that I could park in the one where I worked. If not for the sticker, I would have had to park in a slag covered area. Someone asked me why I parked there, I pointed down at the walking boot on my foot and showed them the picture of what my foot looked like after the surgery. They agreed after that.
I was so glad to not need it and quit using it when I could walk normal again.
Like the OP, I don't understand the mindset of these folks.

It’s certainly no surprise. People can’t be bothered to park between the lines or return their shopping cart. The average person is incredibly lazy and just doesn’t care.

I have never seen a stall marked handicapped

Depending on my immediate need for a restroom stall, I’m not stopping to read stall labels (other than Men, women, or undecided).

I use the big stalls because I'm big and they're usually cleaner. Never once had a wheelchair waiting outside the door when I'm done.

I took this pic about an hour ago. At first I thought he took up 10 spaces but it was actually only 6 or 7. My Tundra and 18’ trailer easily parks in two and I know y’all agree.
Difference between me and some of y’all is that stuff like that doesn’t bother me. I don’t let it. I can’t imagine why he would do that other than a huge rush but there’s lots of other spots to park so it’s a nothing burger to me. I would NEVER think to get on a forum and rant or complain about it.
Dont get me wrong, parking in handicap spots without cause is bad. But all the threads about driving too fast or too slow, etc is just weird to me…..

Dan if you're using one and someone else comes into the restroom, just repeatedly tap your foot on the floor several times. It's a code to let the disabled person know you're just about done.

This just gave everyone a chance to vent about the things that irritate them. It actually feels good to vent. It beats going out in the front yard and howling at the moon.

I don’t see a problem your pic free. I frequently pull a cargo trailer that size, and look for parking spots where I can get in and out easily. And of course, not block anybody. I usually park a ways out from everyone, and have a longer walk.

Here I am again with stupid people doing stupid things.

Understand he needs mulitple spots. But, the again and proximity to building is not going to give him easy exit when some parks on his passanger side. Your right, no reason to block that many spots.

Consider a person that can't drive - which is the case here. If the person can't drive what's the point of the plate/placard? The person issued the plate/placard needs to be present. Without that being met it's abuse - illegal - and the plate/placard could be revoked.

As my mother approached 100 years old we would drive her around to places so she could get out of the house. She had a sticker so we could park close and walk her in. She could walk but it was a slow go and parking close was very helpful. No doubt handicap parking has its place and I hate to see people misuse them. There just often seems to be too many.

603, I agree. I know I have been kinda the "complaint police" lately with all the complaining about GW, bad driving, parking etc. I just think there is too much negativity out there. If someone just needs to vent a little, then, yes, it may be helpful to them and not a big deal to others. I read almost all 603 posts cause you seem intelligent, communicate well, humorous and have a wealth of interesting experiences to share. Im a noticer and your posts that appear to be venting almost always have a humorous side to them, so, you get a pass.....

I see folks abuse the handicap parking with a sticker who clearly don't need it way more than I see folks parking in them without a sticker. I'd say 80% of the people I see in them hop out and walk just fine.

Just because you see them walk ok doesn't mean they don't need it. My wife walks fine for a very short distance. Her heart is the issue, will drop to a dangerous low pressure/rate and it's lights out.

For a blue placard, part of the TX drivers license number or TX ID number of the disabled driver is on the placard. The only way to have a blue placard issued to someone other than the disabled person is when the form is submitted, with the doctor's prescription and certification, there is a box to check that states the driver is the caregiver/driver for the disabled person.
