The RV is beeping. I’ve replaced every battery possible, and still it beeps. Just going over to it to try something new breaks me out in a total sweat. It’s hot. And still it beeps. And to add to my situation, there’s a Purple Martin nest in the carport. They have 5 little chicks, or whatever you call them, and the mom and dad buzz me during my walk to the RV and back. I’m not in the best of moods, and have half a mind to shotgun those dang birds if the wife would allow it. But she just loves them and sits on the back patio with her wine and binoculars and watches them. They don’t buzz her.

Between the buzz bombing birds, the heat and the constant beeping, I am not amused.

'Sure they're not Barn Swallows? I hear tell that right at last light you can put a pellet gun right up to the side of their head while they're roosting, plotting out the next wall of your house to make a complete mess.

Can't help you with the RV. I got rid of the one travel trailer I've ever owned.

Beeping is probably the propane / carbon monoxide detector / alarm.
They go bad & need to be replaced about every 5 years.
You can unplug it temporarily to stop the beeping until you get a new one.

This... I've replaced them on both RV's I've owned.

Absolutely agree. You should see what I can do to one at the end of a night around the fire. There’s no fixing them they have to be replaced. In my case I had to rewire it too.

Take a water hose and wash the mud dauber nest off the wall. And check the smoke alarm also for a low battery.

Shotgun the birds and tell the wife that you are the man of the house and are not to be questioned, women love authority.

Then ask her to make you a sandwich, kick your feet up and have a beer. No sense in getting aggravated.

Post a picture of the type of woman this works on. I'm betting it's one without a lot of options.

I replaced all batteries in detectors. Replaced the batteries in the awning motion detector, and I really thought that would stop the beeping, but no. I called Winnebago and the service guy said it was the awning motion detector. That’s not it. Then he said I needed to pair the awning control with the iPad app. It never needed pairing since we’ve owned the rv, but I’ll try it in the morning (when it’s cooler).

As for the Purple Martins, they aren’t barn swallows, and I am not allowed to do anything to them, says the wife.

Worst case, I’ll pull the fuse.

I really thought this was going to be simple and quick to fix. Silly me.

Skinnerback, my only problem at the moment is that dang beeping. The last thing I want to do is have the wife making more noise than the beeping. Not poking the bear…

Is the beeping coming from the smoke/CO detectors?

People call 9-1-1 for this every hour of every day. Detectors have a life span, and batteries will not increase life span.

Dust decreases life span.

We were in the new house I built only one year, and the detectors alarmed at 0200. My wife stood there quietly while I grabbed the ladder and spiked 8 detectors on the concrete floor. Once I was done making them into pieces, I said "order all new ones tomorrow." I'm not going on a fire alarm call on my own damn house, where I'm supposed to be free of that B.S."

New houses take a long time to get the construction dust out. That dust is what set them off.

Spike em, pull the batteries out.

Is the fridge on? Ours was beeping and turned out the fridge experienced an error. Most likely we had power outage went to switch to gas (but I had the bottles off). I turned it off and back on and was good to go. Switched it off auto to AC only. I hope I remember to switch back to auto the next time we use it.

I never would have even considered calling 911 for the beeping problem. Never thought of it. Would not want to explain to the responders why I called. Do people really make stupid calls like that?

Anyway, it isn’t the smoke or CO or propane detectors. It has to be coming from the awning assembly, if the location of the sound is a true indicator. The Winnebago guy said he thinks the beeping is due to the awning electronics telling me that the Bluetooth needs to be paired with the iPad or iPhone. Well, maybe it was paired before until somehow it got disconnected or ‘unpaired’. Sounds like BS to me, but I’ll give it a go. If it works, I’ll brag to you guys and say it was my idea. If not, I’ll pull the fuse and later drive it down to Willis for service.

I will say for sure that a happy camper really would not like this beeping to start when he was on the road, or God forbid, quietly camping. It’d drive you crazy.

Every Smoke/CO detector made since 2009 that is (UL) approved includes an end-of-life warning - intermittent beeping - to let you know it's time to replace it.
When you put a brand new battery and it still beeps - that's how you know it's time to replace it - which may even be much shorter than the '10-year' design life, due to dust, pollutants, etc.

Did you check the voltage converter?
Mine has beeped before.

Oddly enough, talking about this has helped clarify my thinking on this. What the problem is not is the various detectors, so we can park that thought. I remember that when I extended and retracted the awning this morning, every time the beeping occurred the awning stopped moving until the beeping stopped. This has to be an awning electronics issue. I can’t see how pairing the Bluetooth will fix this, but that may be an age issue with me. If only I had a teenager on site.

I said they call for this every hour of every day.

This very second, there are probably hundreds of fire engines on calls for this, across the country.

Same call between 10 pm and 6 am is lots of fun.
