Well, my oil and gas company did a lay off last week due to selling of our BAKKEN asset. I was def blindsided but that's just part of the oil and gas industry.

I'm in North Houston so if you need a guy, let me know. I would prefer to stay in the business and am now thinking about other areas that I could perform well in.

I'm a senior level Landman with ~17 years of experience so that might help any of you if you know of anyone hiring. I've also been a manager for any leadership opportunities.

We are trusting God that I will land something good soon. Thank you all in advance for any leads.

I am in the industry and have been for thirty years. We are busier right now than we have ever been, Permian mostly. We are literally booking new work into mid 2024. I don't know of any Landman gigs as that is not an area I interact with but I would assume there are jobs galore right now.

If you're going to get laid off, it's not the worst time that's for sure. I just don't want to move the family at this point. If you're willing to move or drive downtown or out toward Katy on I 10, there are jobs. Everyone is going Permian so that's the direction I would like to go...

I wouldn't mind trying other sides of the business to be more well-rounded....

Good luck chk.

You got 2 good things going on for you. 1. You trust God. 2. You want to work.

It will happen.

Maybe the title insurance business for a change? There's a lot going on with all the hwy/infrastructure stuff going on.When my brother retired he worked for a firm that acquired land for the state through eminent domain. The company he worked for needed title work done for a specific hwy project they were working on. He made good money. if I recall, Nogalus Prairie is an attorney that specializes in eminent domain, reach out to him. He may have some thoughts.

See if the purchasing company is hiring maybe get your old gig back. If it is the acquisition I am thinking of the purchaser is still based in H-Town. Problem from the labor side is these M&A's happen and all of a sudden 1 guy is doing the same job 2 people used to do. Good Luck
