Good luck. But it ain't " west Texas" 'til you cross the Pecos. Say this to someone from Monahans or Kermit. Both those are West Texas. Rocksprings, Menard, Eden, Abilene, Big Spring, etc. is not West Texas. I’ve heard Rocksprings described on another forum as “ Deep South Texas”.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Dad had an aunt and uncle that settled in Monahans. They were piano players at the movie theaters all over...silent movies. 'Guess it's better'n at a house of ill repute.  Somehow, I don't think this is getting the OP what he's looking for.
