As stated above, not just in California, but in any major metropolitan area in this once great land, it's getting more and more difficult for innocent, law-abiding citizens (and LEOs) to get any semblance of justice.

I just see an officer who should have kept a knife within easy reach on her person. The overwhelming majority of gunshot wounds are survivable and the majority of edged weapon wounds are not. When someone is on you nothing except fire will get them off of you faster than a blade.

Not even close. Unless you have big women that weigh about 160 or up with Crossfit style strength then women are not suitable to be police officers. When lethal Force wasn't an option like in this case because the man took her gun she had nothing to fall back on. Look at the Amber Geiger girl that killed Botham Jean in Dallas. She weighed 120 lb and had no choice about going lethal Force when she thought she was encountering someone in her apartment. In that case her not coming home obliterated drunk would have also helped things out . Had my dad come home and thought he found a stranger in his house my dad would have just beat the guy's [censored] until he got tired, would take a breather, and then go back to whooping him. That's because my dad wasn't a pipsqueak of a man and had the option of beating someone's butt.

There is seldom a “fair” fight. And, when a badge is pinned on, that person has an obligation to engage every damn time. Conditions and size be damned.
