Decided to try a NRL hunter competition. Decided to go with 6.5 Creedmoor as you have to meet minimum power factor.
My Tikka Tac A1 has a long throat so I after looking around at bullets I went with 150gr Sierra Matchkings since I had a few hundred on hand.
I loaded a few different powders at magazine length and after first round eliminated two powders so today went back with 10 rounds of best load.
Shot two at 100 zero and velocity looked good so went straight to 654yd steel plate.

I was happy with that.
Loaded up next five and played with them by shooting two rounds with tripod set so I could kneel and shoot with Tac plate and bag on top which was pretty steady but when I went to standing propped I didn’t do as well with last three.

Finished up by practicing both positions with Vudoo 22 which was fun.

Dammit man… that’ll do.

Have you shot at one of our NTxR 22 matches? I think you’d do well and it would be right up your alley. Normal PRS matches go out to 385 and our long range bench/prone match goes out for 450+.

Doesn’t seem that hard but with 22’s it can get pretty salty.

I had the NTxR Punisher match on my calendar but a work related event came up and I won’t get home until late Friday night. I was squadded with Senior at a CCC 22 match last year and enjoyed shooting with him so I will get up there soon to be schooled by him again.
Shot in the Walker County match this past Saturday which was out to 340 yds and pretty demanding course of fire with one blind stage which was interesting.

Walker county…Larry and Beth Deiss? Very few finer folks on the shooting world, they are awesome with a great benchrest facility.

Looks like you got her dialed in for fun.

That’s them and I agree they are very welcoming and put on a great match!

That's cool...didn't know they held those matches too. Good for them!

I used to shoot all their "asprin" chip and clay matches when I was running hard in that world.

Punisher going to be a good one. We only have a few spots left and the prize table is going to be really nice. Desert Gun Works donated a RimX barreled action, Vudoo donated $400 cert off barreled action, Atlas donated $300 cert for cold bore shot winner, plus a lot more. We'll be doing a random draw for prize table so even if you come in last you still have a chance to win some really good loot if you're lucky.
