Well i went and donated my $68 dollars and was thinking how i would like to hear all the good stuff TPWD uses that money for, i really am glad we have the right to hunt, I know they have Biologist and Game Wardens but what else.....does the department of agriculture get any of that money?

Well, I hate to be the one to tell you, but a big portion of that money goes to the General Fund instead of TPWD. I, along with a lot of others, have a problem with that.

+ 2 straight to tpwd, for hunting/fishing needs, and to buy and maintain more public hunting opportunities.

Ray Sasser wrote an article in the Dallas Morning News years ago showing how much of the funding for parks and non-consumptive recreational facilities came from the sale of hunting and fishing licenses.

I am not a deer hunter but with the deer population in Texas in a state of under-management I can't see the logic in taking funds collected from the sale of hunting licenses to fund projects that do not allow hunting.

I also would like to see a report explaining the role of barbed wire fences in quail habitat improvement. I am not holding my breath.

yes, i am on the bandwagon of 100% to TPWD....

Hunting license fees DOES go directly to TPWD, not to the General Fund (what a load)...it goes directly to Fund 9 or Wildlife...Fishing license does as well...Fund 9 to Fisheries.

Then I stand corrected. But, there are other places that TPWD gets less than deserved...sales tax on sporting goods, fuel tax, etc.

TPWD gets some federal aid money from the Pittman-Robertson Act (Wildlife) and the Dingell-Johnson Act (Fisheries). There is a special tax on hunting/fishing related items that goes to state fish and game agencies for projects, land acquisition, etc.
