My first house (Maybe even my 2nd) didn't cost that much.

Lol, my first house only cost 61K. Which is less than my current truck. And I just turned 39.

I've always wondered, why my truck payment and first house payment were close to the same $600 per month principle and interest, but yet I can pay my truck off in 5 years and the house takes 30 years confused2 Although the interest rate was 1 maybe 2 points higher on my first house, but dang that is a lot of extra interest.

I can say the same thing...the first time I said it, it was depressing because I knew I had hit a peak age roflmao

Look up how simple versus compounding interest works...that's the difference and is also why you can pay off your installment loans (simple interest) quicker versus compounding on your mortgage.
