 Golf around Athens

Anyone recommend a public golf course around Athens, TX? Was informed that athens country club is private and they wouldnt tell me any courses in the area.

There is one, maybe two at Cedar Creek, maybe 15 minutes away. Tyler has a couple about 30 minutes away.

There is Kings Creek between 7 Points and Kemp. There are two 9 hole courses also. One is in the City of Star Harbor. The other is the Pinnacle Golf Club located between Caney City and Gun Barrel City. Cedar Creek Country Club west of Mabank. Also Echo Creek Golf Course just east of Athens and south of Murchison. There also used to be a Country Oaks Golf Course located south of Athens near Cross Roads, Texas. I do not know if that one is still there. Have not heard anyone mention it for a while. If I think of any more I will let you know. There is also a golf course in Canton.
