I have a IPhone 8 plus. Been great but now the microphone is not working consistently. People say I have static, or they can't hear me at all. I have insurance but have to take it to one of 3 places and neither are close.

DON'T want a $45 a month lease on a IPhone 14Pro. Looking at the new Google Pixel 7.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

What are you trying to avoid with the lease? Do you like iPhones? Have you used an android? How are you with learning new technology?

It might be time to get a new phone but if you want to see if you can easily fix this, the below 9 minute video walks you through all the DIY troubleshooting steps. If you follow this, step by step, it will let you know if you need to take your phone in for service or if you need a new phone. Also, most of these steps will help resolve most common issues if you apply the suggested fix to the issue at hand. Pay close attention to the steps. I'm personally doing some repair hacks on my current iPhone as I'm waiting for the 15 release. Good luck.

I called my local TMobile store. Told them I had the Protection 360 Plan. They said call 611 (TMobile Service). I did. They are sending me a new 8Plus, Free.
They said the microphones are a problem area.

I like free. I guess the insurance is a good buy.

I supposedly get "free" phone insurance through Capitol One by paying my AT&T bill with them. Haven't had to use it yet, so who knows.

In contrast AT&T…I put insurance on an iPhone 12 Pro…dropped it a few weeks ago off the kitchen island…broke the back. My insurance was 9 bucks a month and I had paid 30 months 270 bucks. Filed claim, it was $150 “deductible” and they would send phone overnite. So I paid $420 for the new “insured phone”…I could’ve had the rear glass fixed for $200. Scam…and I was pissed. I’ll be canceling the insurance

The only gain I got was my old battery was at 83% capacity and the new one is now at 100%…it was about new phone time, now I’ll keep this one longer.

Sounds like yours was a much better setup…too bad T-Mobile service sucks for me.

My wife left hers in the roof of the car while buckling in a grandkid. We never found that phone. Paid the insurance deductible and had one in the mail quick like. Sometimes it’s worth it. AT&T

I couldn't hear on my 10 year old droid. I had to use ear buds to use phone. Discovered ear speaker was pack with debris. Cleaned with cotton swap. Fixed.


If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

There's nothing "free" about paying for insurance on an iPhone 8. That phone is worth less than $100 on the secondary market and Apple hasn't sold it as new for several years now. So you almost certainly got a refurb phone as a replacement. Not saying you'll have issues with it, but that phone is 6 generations behind the latest iPhone.

My advice would be to cancel your insurance on the replacement phone. T-Mobile almost always has some variation of a free new iPhone available for existing customers. That would enable you to get the latest 14 without paying for an unnecessary insurance product.
