This one by far is my favorite stout I’ve ever tried. Lakewood Temptress

Temptress is solid. I love a big heavy molasses beer. Hold it up to the sun and not see it. If it would slop out of a glass, even better. The complexities of those big stouts and porters are just awesome

Now, porters, stouts, etc… wife and I are BIG fans. We cellar a bunch and typically sit on them for 3-5 years. They can get pricey, but we get a lot that are 11-20% alcohol. So for a “beer” it’s pricey, but hits harder than wine…so not that bad. I’ll have to see what all we have in there now. We have a closet we set and forget them in

Oldest I've got is a 2013 BCBS and Barleywine. Popped one of the 2013 BCBS about 6 months ago and it was incredible.

Murphy’s Irish Stout when I’m in Ireland.

Continued the beer tasting with the neighbor this afternoon. Drank the Jalisco beer. Pretty good and a lot like Modelo (though also owned by the dark side).

Oh man, I can imagine!! BCBS is our regular aging rotation as well as the Temptress and some others. I don’t like most Saint Arnold beers but their seasonal stouts purdy damn good too

Funny story, a couple years ago I stopped in Lafayette and they had some 3 year old BCBS on the shelf. I bought the 6 they had and the girl about shat when she saw the price and was asking if the price was per bottle or per 6 pack. I didn’t have the heart to screw over the store since it’s a south Louisiana chain, and I was happy to find some that were a few years old already. Just not a typical price point that performs well with volume in that part of the country 🤣

There's two kinds of beer and I like em both.

The kinds I buy, and the kinds someone else buys.

After living in Germany for over five years, I am an admitted beer snob. These days and at my age, the beer has to be worth the calories, and IPAs don't make that cut, I don't care what the ABV is. If I wanted ABV, I'm a Trappist guy all day long. Expensive, but worth it. And New Belgium makes some great Trappists that are fairly easy to get in the U.S.

But when you're in a pub in Ireland, about to eat the best hamburger you've ever had in your life, you order a homegrown Guinness, AND you take a pic.

... or Poland... this was a fabulous beer.

Or a REAL Budweiser in the Czech Republic will work too.

That’s completely understandable, it’s not for rookies, it’s an acquired taste.

Never acquired the taste for beer but I do love coffee. I think I just appreciate the fact that coffee makes me alert and productive whereas beer just makes me tired and make poor decisions.

That’s true. You should only drink beer when you don’t have important decisions to make.

Lakewood Temptress nitro at the brewery is my favorite, Lakewood Brewery is 15 minutes from my house and frequent it a lot.
I’m a stout and porter guy and have hated IPA’s for years but the New Belgium fruit Force has changed my mind, really like them and at 9.5 abv it’s good stuff.

IPAs aren’t my favorite, but there are some I like.

If I could only drink one more beer, it would probably be this one:

If you have not had this Stout, your life is incomplete. Coffee blended in, and 11-12% ABV.

Put yer helmet on.

Big Bad Baptist is fantastic. The Big Bad Baptista variant is also excellent. If I'd known you were into stouts I could have brought some out. Next time I come out to shoot (not sure when but I need to get dope on a rifle) I'll bring some I think you'll enjoy.
