My son has a GX470. A bunch of the plastic is fading because its 20 years old. He would like to line it with a bed liner. Anyone have good success with lining plastic trim and bumpers? If so, what product did you use? RUST-OLEUM makes a product that has good reviews.

Raptor Liner is what the auto body and dealerships are using around here.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Duplicolor makes a good one, I sprayed a chrome brush guard with it last year and it still looks like new.

There are some really good black plastic restorers out there right now. I used some on the plastic of my son's Jeep and it made it look new again Still holding up a year later. So if he's just wanting to make it look better, and bed liner was a potential solution it's worth $20 to order some of this stuff and give it a try first.

I used to do bedliner’s full time. I can say from experience that 99% of the time the prep isn’t done right for plastics and the liners will eventually bubble or peel, more so on textured vs painted plastics.
I would replace the plastic bumpers with quality aftermarket metal bumpers.
If it’s a cost issue, then I would consider DIY with RaptorLiner. They have a great system and all the necessary chemicals. You would likely be spending $1000 plus with a company to have it sprayed.
