They’re all relatively inexpensive, is there one or a few to get or stay away from. I’ve never used one but will be from here forward. Midway has about a million of them in stock.

I've used many of them. They're simple, so there's not not much to avoid if you buy the type specific to a certain action and cartridge. The universal types are not so great but you can use one in a number of different applications. When it comes to MSRs, there's more variety it seems. In as few words as possible I'd say any bore guide that's useable in an application is better than no bore guide at all.

I have the full set of Possum Hollow guides that I bought used 15 or so years ago. They are by caliber and don’t have the solvent port but even on the few custom guides I have I tend to not use that port anyway. For AR’s I use the JP but there are cheaper options that are good.

I use the Lyman and works as designed. I misread your title and thought you said bore scope. Ok correct answer is Possum Hollow with solvent port, I have several.

Email Mike Lucas and have him make you a custom guide, it won't be your last one, measure your cleaning rod first so you have that information handy.
