The better question is: Sauce or no-sauce? You are rookie if you don't use hot sauce. And you need 2, not just one. And you need to eat it while driving, and putting some on every bite. You got to be on a country road tho, not something you do in the city.

The better question is: Sauce or no-sauce? I use about four ketchup packages per burrito

I thought anyone who was a connoisseur of food at Allsups had to work at Halliburton.

The Allsups was in Fort Sumner. And I got some coffee, but it was pretty bad. The good news is that I had to keep both hands on the wheel to keep the RV on the road, so I didn’t drink it. The crossways wind was gusting to 60 mph. I stopped a bit further down the road, to rest a bit and get better coffee. When I got out of the RV, the wind was moaning, like it used to sound in hurricanes in Houston.
If I wasn’t wanting to get home, I’d have stopped somewhere overnight and not fought the wind.
No gut problems from the beef and bean yet. Luckily, the sprinter van has two exhaust fans, and the big one could maybe suck the gimme cap off your head. Sooo, if gas happens…
While we’ve been gone, the neighbor says we got 6” of rain and golf ball sized hail. And it rained and hailed again today. Crazy weather.

I prefer the chimichanga, but those work too. You know I have never had the Alsups chimichanga. What is the difference? I thought a chimichanga is a fried burrito. It has meat, cheese and green chilies and yes, its fried. Well the " beef and bean" burrito has beef, so the difference is chimichanga has cheese and green chilies, and no bean I guess? We need an official ruling on this... The chimichanga has stringy meat like chicken out of a crock pot instead of hamburger-ish mystery meat.

Been a while since I’ve had one, but I like the beef n bean. I hate how your clothes always smell like a grease trap when you go in there. You’ll be up in a tree stand two days later and rub your nose and bam… there’s that nasty smell.

If you haven't had the tamales you need to try them. They go well with the bean and beef burrito.

Those were part of my weekly diet from birth through college. Still grab a chimichanga or burrito when I need a quick snack traveling back to West Texas!

Ashamed to admit that when I'm home, I'm often Allsup's territory... and I've NEVER partaken in this Holy Grail of gas station rot gut goodness. Gonna have to change that, even if it doesn't like me... I guess a good case of the Trots is worth it... once.

I ate one of their jalapeño burgers on the way to the deer lease. Not good when you are at 14' on a bow hunting platform. Fortunately I managed to get out of my safety harness and make it back to camp. A buddy told me a story the other day about getting halfway down the ladder on his blind when he felt it running down his leg. I told him if he is going to have those problems he needs a ground blind.

I prefer their chimichanga, smothered in their taco sauce and chased with a Mountain Dew
That’s my late night pig hunting meal of choice
