Too many idiots out there lately, I feel I need to have video proof anymore in case something stupid happens. Anybody got a recommendation, or at least what to look for when shopping? TIA.

I'm with you. I live near Sun City and those folks are dangerous. I just bought my first one and went with the Ring Car Cam. Easy to set up and seems to work well. Still playing with it before I put it all the other vehicles.

We have a dash cam in every car. Two years ago a guy ran a red light and t-boned my middle child. He claimed he had a green light and she pulled out on red. We shared the dash cam video with the cops. The lying SOB was busted! Daughter was crossing under green and he ran the red. While texting I might add, and no insurance! Get one and be protected asap.

We have Aukey and Rexing cams. They all work.

So will to police write a ticket?

I'm not sure what you are asking, but, yes, the police gave the SOB a ticket.

Here are a couple of pics from a 2020 Toyota Corolla with the dash cam. I think it is the Aukey. Anyway, it shows what you see from the driver's seat: pretty much nothing. A view from the dash looking up: you can see the cam. The only exposed wire: I tucked everything inside the plastic and routed it to a power source. And then a view from the front looking at the windshield.

By the time I arrived on scene (2 days after Christmas) the situation was pretty calm. When the popo told me what the guy said I wanted to beat him to a pulp! My daughter just wanted to leave, so I put her in my car and talked with the police a little while longer, showing them the dash cam recording. They were talking to the guy as I drove off. Damn, I still get mad just thinking about it!

Anywhooo...get a dash cam. I don't know if one kind is better than another, but get one.

Very slick installation, RSTX! That's what I'm hoping to do with whichever I end up with.
