Yes, the new year has begun...in three weeks fawns will begin to hit the ground in some areas.my area for one. Very exciting! Fawn counts will begin to take place by lease managers until August with a few being born in September and maybe into October. The adult count will normally take place from June into July for me. The earlier the better for me. Well it normally would take place for me but I did loose my lease to solar farms. I had it for 30 years...an it will be missed.

I have a cattle mineral feeder at one location and a 4' cattle trough at another location. The deer lick the minerals right out of them. In the past I've dug a whole and dumped on the ground, but this way along with camera's I can see how much their consuming.

South Texas this past weekend we’re about that size, south east Texas bucks that I’ve seen are 4”+ tall on some of them.

We have one buck on our lease who's antlers are already up as tall as his ear tips when in the alert position. I am hoping that I know which buck it is, as I am still hunting him. I didn't get an opportunity at him last season. I will try to post pics from last season and the new growth.
Born to hunt and fish.

Won't have anything big in the backyard but they are fun to watch. They have nubs and attitudes to go with them.

This guy has sprouted a good bit more length than any of our others for this early.
