I know theres been talk before on here about HF and I will admit, I've been through the store off 30 in Garland a few times and everything looked cheap. But I was just working on the ol Ladys riding mower and found that 50, is hitting my fat azz pretty hard. So I got to thinkin, if I get one of those mower lift thing's, it might help. So of course Google was my first spot to look as I soak up some A/C & drink Whiskey (I mean, I had time, she was mowing) Before I knew it, I was on HF's website ordering a lift for $150. Am I gonna die next Saturday while changing the blades for her?

I have never had a problem with their jacks, lifts or air tools. Almost extensively use Bauer cordless power tools now...and I use them a lot! I've lost 2 Milwaukee batteries but no Bauer. Stay away from Warrior brand and I don't use the hand tools for really heavy work. Have not had any problems with sockets...

Laughing. My wife has the zero turn and only she operates it, like CCB’s wife. I am in charge of maintenance - belts, oil, blades, and tune ups. My only concern is that she can wreck most anything mechanical, so I live in fear of having her do major damage.

Probably, but it will be a cheap death, at least.

I have bought a lot of their stuff. Anything that needs good steel to keep an edge is worthless. Electronic tools seem under powered for their rating. I have never had any issues with jacks, jack stands, air compressor and will continue to use them, especially for the stuff I use once or twice a year.

They're my first place to look if I need something I may never use again

I have a grinder from HF. It’s awesome.
I buy saw blades, etc at HF. Had a pretty good pole saw too.

Most of the stuff will get the job at hand done and some future work as well - but if it something that would be working hard daily in a journeyman's shop, then I would buy quality somewhere else.

Yep, some of their stuff isn’t of high or even acceptable quality. But, I’ve busted tools that I bought elsewhere. No matter what the stores name is, a lot of stuff is made in the cheapest way possible.

At one time Sears Craftsman meant top quality but no longer.

No way would I buy any type of electrical or battery powered tool from Harbor Freight, I will pay a little more and buy Milwaukee cordless.

Home Depot runs Milwaukee Bundles around Black Friday and other holidays and are cheaper than the Harbor Freight crap cordless chit they sell

I buy there blue tarps by the case, other than that not really much worth buying in my opinion.

I have a cheap bench vise from them as well as some nice aluminum jack stands. They have some decent items if you look closely.

Pass the gravy.

I did not know that there is a HF off I30. There is a Nothern Tool. I buy nitrile gloves at HF and grab some micro fiber towels when free. I know there is a HF off 66 in Rowlett next to Goody Goody's. I have one of their chainsaw sharpeners and it has worked well. I just drive my lawn tracker up on a couple of boards and lift the deck all the way up when removing blades.

I won't buy any type of power tool from them. I've let the smoke out of some 4 1/2" angle grinders a buddy bought.

My 3/4" drive sockets up to 3" are their house brand, Pittsburgh. Not used that often, but I haven't broken them. Did bend the breaker bar though.

Tarps, moving blankets, screwdrivers and such but Do Not ever buy those battery powered liquid transfer pumps. They’re absolutely junk and you have to go online for refunds.

Have had good luck with their wrenches, sockets, screw drivers, clamps, things like that. As a general rule I view their tools the same way I view Tractor Supply 3pt implements. If there are no moving parts, its probably a safe purchase.

I have no problem with the "General" line of tool storage systems. Great for residential use.

I would strongly recommend a used Snap-On box over anything harbor freight has… if you’ll search, they are about the same price.

Have one of those too, works great. I also have a Craftsman I use for hardware and spare gun parts...it's garbage.

I'm betting Milwaukee, Dewalt, Porter Cable, all of them are Chicom any more.
