Until I feel like spending $80 from work to properly paint them to last, took the acetylene torch to them to dress it up a little.

Interested in how long it stays that way? Some people say it lasts a few weeks, others for quite awhile. Probably depends on the plastic and sun exposure.

Wonder if that krylon paint for plastic would last and not look like crap in a few months.

Wonder if that krylon paint for plastic would last and not look like crap in a few months. I’ve had good luck with Duplicolor bedliner rattle can at $15/ can.

Looks good. Best thing to use on it is the tire shine, will keep it nice and black and glossy. Works better than Armour All.

Back To Black is pretty good stuff, too, but the torch seems to have done well.

It lasts a little less each time you do it. I've got a bumper cover I started doing it to years ago, and now it's only good for a couple weeks.
I've also used Plasti-dip a few times, and it works really well. Don't know how it would stand up to step pad wear, though.

Product called back to black works well, otherwise like mentioned, I keep tire shine on my plastics to keep them from oxidizing too bad. Makes’em look purdy too

I bought some stuff for my son's Jeep and it has worked extremely well for over a year now. Very long lasting and was easy to do. Pretty much just like putting on Armor All. I can find the bottle and get the name of it if anyone is interested.
It turned really faded fenders and rear bumper back to a deep black and has held up. Still going on the first application.

Back To Black is my go to also. Been very impressed with it since the first time I used it. Where I used to work, the guys that cut plexiglass pieces with table saw would, “fire polish” the cut edge with a small, jewelry sized oxy/acetylene torch.

I've seen a bunch of these advertised but have first hand experience with this one. And a little goes a long ways. A bottle will do multiple vehicles. Rugged Restore

Looking good, now since you fixed the "bumper cover/non slip pads" when are you going to do something about the paint?

Armorall or whatever it is after you torch them. That’s how you get it to last! Let it dry before driving.
